Publications Northwestern University – Summer 2022 Posted on January 26, 2025February 4, 2025 by Pranav In the summer of 2022, I took a graduate-level course on machine learning and applications in mechanical engineering. Throughout this course, I learned various concepts from Convolutional Neural Networks(CNNs), K-Means Clustering, Activation Functions, and many other advanced lessons. Part of the experience included a summer research project, where I was mentored by Chanwook Park of the Wing Cam Liu Group in developing a High-Risk Asteroid Impact Classification by K-Means Clustering. This way, I was able to condense the 24,000+ NASA Asteroid Watch database from 24 different degrees of freedom into 3, simplifying the process and the algorithm processes for new additions to the dataset. I was able to be published through Northwestern University and the link is embedded in the text.
